Since the year 2000 Karen has worked and studied in the fields of Natural Resource Management, Bushland Conservation and Environmental Education.
For over a decade now, Karen has worked as a bushland regenerator and conservation maintenance leader, assisting in the management of well over 100 remnant bushland reserves across the Swan Coastal Plain, in the southwest of Western Australia.
Karen has built a strong connection with, and understanding of the bush and loves to share her knowledge with the community. This was the motivation behind the creation of Life in the Bush - to provide Karen with a platform to could deliver engaging educational experiences, showcasing the unique bushland biodiversity of the Southwest.
"I believe that we protect what we love and we love what we understand and feel a connection with. My job is to help people understand our local bushland and to encourage that connection with nature, through engaging educational experiences. It is my hope that people who watch my videos and attend events, will grow to love our beautiful bushland and feel inspired to protect it."
